I’m a foreign service officer currently in training to go to Macedonia. My first tour was in Hermosillo, Mexico which I loved.
I used to write emails to friends and family but then I thought I would want a place to keep all these memories so I figured I’d take the plunge and write a blog.
Also, everything in this blog is my personal views and opinions and do not necessarily represent the views or opinions of the US government.
PS. The header picture is actually from Colombia. I took it while on a beach outside of Cartagena.
Kaitlin, i enjoyed reading all your past blogs. Keep them coming. I love happenings in other cultures. take care, mary

LOL
Hello Kaitlin, I enjoy reading your blog’s, How come no post lately?
Hi! It’s been a very busy few weeks actually full of good future blog posts, just haven’t had time to write them. At the G20 right now in Cabo.
Hey Kaitlin, love the posts. It’s nice to see an insight on the foreign service. I’m processing as an IMS right now. Though, there’s a test for Generalist in February. I’m signing up for that. I just wanted to say hi. I’m Dan, but the one from the above post. I’m other Dan.
*but (not) the one from the above post.
Oh! Thanks for reading! I’m always glad that someone besides my mother reads my blog
If you ever have any questions about any FS stuff feel free to reach out!!
I have a ton of questions. I was hoping to make contact and pick your brain about it. I’m actually finishing up my application to take the FSOT in February. I’m having a tough time picking between Management and PD. Is this a good place to ask questions?
Kaitlin,
Your blog is very enjoyable, a fellow Spanish student at FSI put me on to it when she heard I was heading to Hermosillo. If you have any time over lunch or another time that is convenient I would be happy to grab lunch with you one day, throw some Hermosillo questions your way, and receive any advice you have about serving there. Feel free to look me up in the GAL or reply to my email if interested. Thanks, Yale
Any chance I could get in touch with you to ask some questions about life as a FSO? Just passed the FSOT and am in the process of writing my personal narratives. Would love any advice or insight you could offer!
